To referee youth games in Eastern New York, referees over 18 years of age
must submit to a Risk-Management criminal background check every two registration
years. If you do not submit to this screening you will be noted as ineligible to
officiate youth soccer games in Eastern New York. The investigative enterprise
contracted by ENYYSA uses the subject’s Social Security number as the key data
record for the purposes of this screening.
A copy of the annual recertification reminder letter from the USSF to ENY-affiliated referee personnel
is attached here.
Please understand the following:
1 - You must have a viable electronic mail account to receive information on the status of your application.
2 - You must provide a legitimate Social Security number. Any incorrect or false numbers will cause your application
to be rejected, and pending appeal, you will be considered as having failed for cause.
3 - You will soon receive confirmation of your application, and whether you have passed or failed.
4 - Once you start the process, if you chose to abort the application, you will be considered, pending appeal, as having failed for cause.
5 - You must submit answers to the following questions. If subsequent screening reveals that your answers to these questions were false,
your application, pending appeal, will be considered as having failed for cause.
If for procedural or evidentiary reasons you fail this screening you will be notified by e-mail. You may then appeal the rejection by telephone at 516-766-0849 or by e-mail at enybackgroundcheck@enysoccer.com. If you choose not to appeal any failure, you will be noted as ineligible to officiate youth soccer games in Eastern New York.
